Are you a body? – Ramana’s “Who am I?” P2

by

In this Ramana Mini Satsang, Richard Clarke reflects on the second paragraph of “Who Am I?”, a classic text by the Indian sage Sri Ramana Maharshi. The paragraph starts, “Who am I?” I am not this physical body, nor am I the five organs of sense perception, I am not the five organs of external activity, nor am I the five vital forces, nor am I even the thinking Mind. .

Through a short guided inquiry, Clarke invites us to explore the truth of this statement in our own experience. He suggests that we simply ask ourselves, “Are you the body? Are you the senses? Are you the mind?” and allow our own insights to emerge.
