Fiery Nataraja

At the SAT Temple, in Santa Cruz, CA, USA, one of the Ramana devotees, Jim Clark, each Sunday decorates the murtis with flowers, using the flowers that are locally abundant each week. The decorations change each week, and are always beautiful, and sometimes extraordinary. Last week was one of the extraordinary times. Jim used the flowers from ‘Red Hot Poker’ plants to show the fire that surrounds Nataraja.

Nataraja, Siva, as the Lord of Dance, performs the tandava, the dance in which the universe is created, maintained, and dissolved. The surrounding flames represent the manifest Universe.

Temple attendees look forward each week to seeing the flowers that Jim sets out for satsang.
